The relay module with forward drive contact is used to ensure the functional safety. Weidmuller's SAFESERIES uses relays that comply with EN 61810-3 Type A forced-guide contacts, especially for signal monitoring in protective personnel and machine applications.

The SAFESERIES Contact extension module ensures that security feedback reaches the control level. It consists of four different pluggable relays with matching screws, with contact versions of 2 normally open +2 normally closed, 3 normally open +1 normally closed, 4 normally open +2 normally closed, and 3 normally open +3 normally closed. PL e performance levels can be achieved when applications are designed according to EN/ISO 13849-1. The basic components are also suitable for security applications that comply with IEC/EN 62061 to achieve SIL3 security integrity levels.
