Vishay introduces a two-way single-pole double-throw/four-way single-pole double-throw analog switch

     Vishay Intertechnology has announced the launch of a new dual-way single-pole double-throw/quad single-pole double-throw analog switch, DG2788A. The switch has a resistance as low as 0.37Ω at 2.7V and is available in a small 2.6mm x 1.8mm x 0.55mm miniQFN16 package. The Vishay Siliconix DG2788A improves resistance variation flatness, signal integrity, and bandwidth, and reduces parasitic capacitance, making it ideal for analog and digital signal switching in space-constrained consumer, medical, and industrial applications.

     The resistance flatness of the benchmark device that approximates the resistance value is 500mΩ, and the flatness of the device released today is 10mΩ, resulting in a THD of -100dB. In addition, the parasitic capacitance CON of DG2788A is 26pF, COFF is 14.5pF, which is 70% lower than the standard device, and the -3dB bandwidth is 338MHz. The switch has a voltage range of up to 5.5V and can be used in common 5V industrial designs. If a 5V operating voltage is used, the benchmarking device requires a larger package size to reduce the resistance value below 0.5Ω.

     DG2788A can route high frequency wide swing pulse signals. The switches support rail-to-rail pulses of over 80MHz and load currents greater than 200mA, making them ideal for precision pulse-width-modulated power loads in products such as shape memory alloy (SMA) actuators. This device enables signal switching in smartphones and tablets, medical devices, modems and peripherals, data storage devices, SMA optical imaging stabilizers in miniature cameras, replacing relays in portable instruments, industrial control and automation equipment.

     The DG2788A has four independent selectable single-pole double-throw switches and two control inputs. All switches have good conduction in both directions and can be used as multiplexers and demultiplexers. The device can break the circuit before switching and power-off protection. The switch uses a single power supply of 1.8V to 5.5V, and the logical threshold of the digital input is 1.2V, ensuring compatibility with low-voltage TTL/CMOS circuits. The switch is RoHS compliant, ESD voltage is greater than 2kV (mannequin), and latch current reaches 300mA per JESD78 requirements.
