U-blox announces its new GPS/GLONASS receiver platform u blox 8 for low-power devices

     U-blox, a global leader in wireless and positioning modules and chips, announced the launch of its latest u blox 8 GPS/GLONASS receiver platform. The new product can be combined with the u-blox GNSS platform to complement each other and emphasize low-power usage patterns, while the existing u-blox M8 platform continues to support applications that require navigation performance and the highest accuracy.

     Compared to the previous generation u-blox 7, u-blox 8 provides a significant performance improvement, with its tracking sensitivity increased by 4  dBm to -166 dBm. In addition, enhanced odometer functionality, new geofencing features, and optimized preset power saving modes can reduce the power requirements of sports products by half. The free AssistNow service, available online, offline or as an autonomous service, also helps improve performance to enhance GNSS capture efficiency. The new positioning platform is ideal for all battery-powered devices, especially wearable and motion tracking devices.
