The new high-performance 802.11ac Wi-Fi solution expands Cypress's industry-leading iot wireless connectivity portfolio

Cypress Semiconductor, a leader in wireless connectivity solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT), has announced the launch of a new wireless solution. The solution combines high performance 802.11ac Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth ® and Bluetooth Low Power (BLE) technologies for iot applications with excellent coexistence features. Cypress's latest highly integrated CYW4373 solution has a built-in USB 2.0hub, which provides a universal WLAN and Bluetooth interface. This combined solution is ideal for smart home products such as home appliances, printers and network peripherals.

802.11ac-based Wi-Fi networks combine low latency, high speed, and device security certification, making them ideal wireless technologies for connecting devices to the cloud. Cypress's 802.11ac solution leverages high-speed transmission to increase the download speed and transmission distance of iot devices, and reduces power consumption by quickly entering deep sleep mode. The CYW4373 solution is powered by Cypress's all-inclusive WICED® Studio IoT development platform, making it easier for developers to integrate wireless technologies.
