The latest PMIC series of AI SoCs for high-performance vehicles
Dialog, a leading provider of battery management, AC/DC power conversion, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Power (BLE), and industrial IC solutions, announces the launch of the DA914X-A product family of extremely efficient, high-current, automotive grade, step-down DC-DC (Buck) convertors. The DA914X-A device complies with AEC-Q100 first-level standards and is packaged in a 4.5mm x 7.0mm 60-pin FC-BGA package with 0.6mm pitch.
The DA914X-A device offers unprecedented current ratings of up to 40A and is A significantly better alternative to power products that require both a power controller and separate FETs. The DA914X-A series combines the power FETs and all the required control logic into a highly integrated and efficient single chip. Very few external components are required to operate, thus achieving a very low system BOM cost and solution size of less than 170 mm2. This series of devices is extremely energy efficient, reducing the heat dissipation challenge of supplying large currents to complex automotive SoCs. This makes the product family well suited to power graphics or AI-embedded processors in machine learning and vision applications for the next generation of autonomous vehicles.
The DA914X-A family currently consists of two devices. The DA9141-A is a single-channel, four-phase step-down converter that provides up to 40A output current. The DA9142-A is a single-channel, dual-phase step-down converter that provides up to 20A output current. All devices have an input voltage range of 2.8V to 5.5V and an output voltage range of 0.3V to 1.3V, making them suitable for a variety of low power systems.
