The Samsung Secure ARTIK iot platform uses Cypress wireless connectivity solutions

     Cypress Semiconductor, a leader in wireless connectivity solutions for the Internet of Things, announced that Samsung Electronics Co., LTD. (SSNLF) has selected its Wi-Fi connectivity solution for its ARTIK™ iot platform. Cypress's low-power CYW43907 802.11n Wi-Fi system-on-chip (SoC) is currently being used in Samsung's ARTIK 050 module to provide secure iot connectivity for smart appliances and industrial electronics. The SoC solution not only provides the ARTIK 050 with robust and stable Wi-Fi connectivity and application processing capabilities, but its unique architecture also provides the module with a best-in-class power management solution that maximizes battery life.

     Samsung ARTIK is an end-to-end integrated iot platform that transforms the process of connected product development, launch and management. The Cypress CYW43907SoC integrates dual-band IEEE 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi with a 320-MHz ARM Cortex-R4 RISC processor and 2MB SRAM to run a variety of applications and manage iot protocols. The SoC's power management unit simplifies the topology and optimizes energy consumption. The CYW43907 solution is powered by Cypress's Wireless Internet Connectivity for Embedded Devices (WICED) Software Development Kit (SDK), which provides code examples, tools and development support.
