STMicroelectronics and GLOBALFOUNDRIES enhance FD-SOI platform and technology leadership

     STMicroelectronics and GLOBALFOUNDRIES announced that ST has selected the 22 nm FD-SOI(22FD@) technology platform to power its next-generation processor solutions for industrial and consumer applications. Following the deployment of the industry's first 28 nm FD-SOI technology platform, ST is expanding its business roadmap by leveraging GF's production-ready 22FDX process and ecosystem to provide second-generation FD-SOI solutions for future intelligent systems.

This technology is particularly suitable for chips that require high performance, high energy efficiency at the lowest cost solution cost, and is ideal for a wide range of applications from smart clients and wireless connectivity to artificial intelligence and smart cars.
