ST introduces new STM32 Nucleo development boards to strengthen support for industry-leading 32-bit microcontrollers
STMicroelectronics, a leading global semiconductor supplier spanning multiple electronics applications, has enhanced its support for the market-leading STM32 family of 32-bit flash microcontrollers with the introduction of the STM32 Nucleo-144 series of affordable and compact development boards. The new 144-pin development board further expands the scope of the existing STM32 development ecosystem, enabling customers to rapidly develop applications using any STM32 microcontroller, from the most energy efficient to the highest performing, by enhancing on-board connectivity.
The new development board is fully compatible with the existing STM32 development ecosystem and includes a dedicated application expansion plug board that allows developers to easily integrate dedicated functionality from motor drivers to environmental sensors in their final application. In addition, the new development board offers unlimited application expansion through three connection ports, including a ST zio connector in addition to the Arduino™Uno and ST morpho connectors on the existing Nucleo-64 board. These three types of connectors allow developers to easily implement any creative function using the full range of common I/O pins of the STM32 microcontroller. Some of the STM32 Nucleo-144 development boards include Ethernet, as well as USB FS OTG ports to simplify the board's connection to local and wide area networks.
From hobbyists and students to the most experienced professional system developers, the entire embedded processing development community can use the STM32 Nucleo-144 development board to quickly test, optimize and promote new applications based on the most popular, affordable and energy efficient 32-bit microcontrollers.
All STM32 Nucleo-144 development boards are integrated with a ST-Link debugger/programmer, eliminating the need for a separate debug probe. The new development board is also compatible with the most popular development toolchains, including IAREWARM, Keil MDK-ARM, GCC/ LLVM-based integrated development environments such as AC6 SW4STM32 or Atollic TrueStudio.
