ST and Amazon Cloud computing service platform to provide loT cloud node overall solution

     ST announced a partnership with Amazon Cloud Computing Services Platform (AWS) on the latest AWS Internet of Things (loT) solution, AmazonFreeRTOS, to provide the market with access to LOT Cloud node overall solution. The AmazonFreeRTOS operating system platform gives developers everything they need to easily and securely deploy microcontroller-based iot devices and develop application software without worrying about the complexity of scaling or scaling systems across millions of devices. Once connected to the cloud, IoT device applications can use the full capabilities of the cloud computing service platform or process data locally and continuously using AwsGreengrass software.

     By integrating ST's semiconductor modules with the AmazonFreeRTOS operating system, ST's partnership with AWS will accelerate designers' efforts to develop easy-to-connect iot node devices. AmazonFreeRTOS adds libraries for LAN networking, cloud connectivity, security, and remote software updates to the latest free, open source real-time operating system kernel for embedded devices (FreeRTOS).

     The STM32 family is the industry's most popular 32-bit Arm@Cortex@-M microcontroller, and ST's modular loT co-development platform includes advanced semiconductor products, ready-to-use development boards, free software tools and common routines. At the AmazonFreeRTOS conference, Amazon announced that this operating system and related software libraries will be installed on the STM32L4 series of ultra-low power microcontrollers from today.

     St's B-L475E-IOT01AloT node exploration tool is the AmazonFreeRTOS starter Kit. As a fully integrated development board, this discovery kit offers low-power communication connectivity, multichannel sensors, and the rich capabilities of the STM32L4 family, enabling designers to develop a wide range of iot applications. The board supports ArduinoUnoV3 and PMOD interfaces, which can be plugged into various special sub-boards to expand the system functions indefinitely.
