Renesas Electronics works with SEGGER to support users with the emWin GUI

     Renesas Electronics, Inc., a leading global provider of semiconductor solutions, and SEGGER, a leading provider of software, hardware and embedded system development tools, announced today that they will collaborate to The powerful SEGGERemWinGUI software package is free for business customers using Renesas Electronics' new RX65N/RX651 microcontrollers (MCUS). Engineers developing Human machine interfaces (HMI) or any RX65N/RX651 device type systems will receive a free license to use the emWin library version, including its full suite of tools.

     EmWin embedded GUI software is compatible with single - and multi-tasking environments using proprietary operating systems, or with any commercial RTOS such as SEGGER's embOS. embOS is designed for ultra-low power consumption and can be used in any battery-powered application. As an industry standard, emWin is widely used in all market segments including industrial, medical, consumer, smart home, white goods and automotive.

     The RX65N/RX651MCU combines an enhanced RX CPU core architecture with 120MHz operation to achieve 4.55CoreMark/MHz processing performance. The new product includes integrated TrustedSecureIP(TSIP), highly reliable flash memory capabilities, and HMI capabilities for industrial and network control systems running at the edge of the Industrial Internet of Things (IloT). The RX65N/RX651MCU also includes an embedded TFT controller and integrated 2D graphics accelerator with advanced features, making it ideal for TFT display graphics design in iot edge device or system control applications. Choosing a display size up to WQVGA allows its large 640 KB of on-chip RAM to be used as a display frame buffer, saving external RAM and ensuring a cost-optimized design.
