Renesas Electronics RZ/N1 solution suite supports industrial Ethernet applications

     Renesas Electronics Corporation announced the launch of a new RZN1 microprocessor (MPU) solution suite to support a variety of industrial networking applications, including programmable logic controllers (PLCS), intelligent network switches, gateways, operator terminals and remote I/O solutions.

     The new RZN1 solution suite is a complete development package, including hardware and software, to accelerate prototype development of leading industrial ETHERNET protocols, including EtherCAT, EtherNetIPTM, ETHERNET Powerlink, PROFINET, Sercos and CANopen. This accelerates the development and integration of industrial networking protocols into customer applications by six months.

     The new kit includes a CPU development board based on RZ/N1SMPU. In addition, the comprehensive package includes all drivers and middleware, sample protocol stack, U-Boot, Linux based BSP, unique interprocessor communication software, and the user-friendly PinMuxing tool that generates Gen C dock files and eliminates the complexity of pin configuration. The variety of software and sample code provides customers with a complete set of tools and frameworks to build their own applications without any additional upfront costs and reduced configuration complexity.
