QORVO enhances wired broadband network performance to deliver a superior video experience
Qorvo announced the launch of five new products - four high-performance amplifiers, the QPB2318, QPB2328, QPB3311 and QPB3321, and a broadband digital stepping attenuator, the QPC3614, to further expand the CATV portfolio. These new products are designed to increase the upstream/downstream capacity of client devices and significantly enhance the broadband experience for consumers. Qorvo currently offers more than 65 devices that support DOCSIS 3.1 - more than any other vendor in the industry.
The CableLabs report shows that the most common data-intensive application globally is video streaming, with bandwidth requirements accounting for the largest proportion of all types of broadband use. As operators deploy DOCSIS3.1, they will be able to improve broadband network performance, including increased throughput and reduced latency, to meet consumer demand.
The new solutions from Qorvo leverage the company's industry-leading gallium arsenide (GaAs) and silicon on Insulator (SOI) technologies to deliver superior linearity, power output and reliability in wireline broadband applications. Using these features, multi-system operators (Msos) are able to improve signal performance within the structure without increasing distortion and noise.

The announcement includes four DOCSIS 3.1 upstream amplifiers that provide high gain and best-in-class linearity, support up to 16-port indoor amplifiers, and support for Voice over IP (VoIP) and Multimedia coaxial Cable Alliance (MoCA) applications; And a wideband digital stepping attenuator that supports fast (< 500ns), burr free switching, resulting in significantly improved video quality. All of these new products are designed to meet the growing demand for faster home data transfer.
