Ambarella, Inc. has announced its latest AI SoCs generation for in-vehicle fleet telematics systems. Ideal for AI dash cams integrating front-facing ADAS and DMS, the new CV75AX provides up to 2x the AI performance over its prior-generation SoC, allowing the latest transformer neural networks for improved accuracy and reduced false positives without having to train for every object.

     Ambarella Corporation has announced the latest generation of its AI soc for in-vehicle telematics systems. The new CV75AX is ideally suited for AI dashcam with integrated front-facing ADAS and DMS, delivering twice the AI performance of previous generation SOCs, allowing the latest transformer neural networks to improve accuracy and reduce false positives without having to train each object.

     The new device also provides artificial intelligence capabilities for more sophisticated driver scoring models. Ideal for the next generation of automotive gateways, the new device supports up to 10 cameras and offers six times better AI performance than its predecessor, supports vision transformers and multimodal visual language models (vlm), provides instant event alerts and multichannel video pre-classification, and natural language search for more efficient video analysis - all without training.

     The CV75AX's on-chip MCU core features a new ultra-low-power sleep mode with an SoC consumption of less than 5mw. This eliminates the need for an external MCU to monitor a parked vehicle sensor without draining the battery, reducing BOM costs and design complexity. These devices use the same SDK and are powered by Ambarella's Cooper developer platform to accelerate the development of in-vehicle telematics applications.

     Senya Pertsel, Senior Director of Automotive Marketing at Ambarella, said: "Our current generation of AI SoCs is already widely used in in-vehicle systems by leading fleet telematics providers, and our unique capabilities enable fanless AI dashcams that do not obstruct the driver's view." "Our new CV75AX and CV72AX SoCs improve AI performance, efficiency and functionality while maintaining fanless functionality, and we have obtained designs and are evaluating next-generation systems by leading telematics providers for transformer sensing, vlm analysis and driver scoring models."

     Compared to the previous generation, these new in-vehicle communication SOCs feature the company's latest CVflow 3.0 AI engine, triple CPU performance, triple the DRAM bandwidth supported by LPDDR5, and provide a faster USB 3.2 interface for 5G modems. They also integrate the latest generation of industry-leading image signal processors and H.264/5 video encoders to provide high-quality images for human viewing and computer vision, as well as multichannel recording for evidence collection. In addition, these are the latest company SOCs manufactured with Samsung's contract 5nm FinFET process technology, allowing them to operate in a wide temperature range (-40 ° C to 105 ° C environment), which is critical for automotive applications and further contributes to lower power consumption and improved performance compared to the previous generation.

     Along with improved AI performance, these new SOCs also apply the company's advanced AI-based HDR image processing technology to in-vehicle telematics systems. The proprietary technology, known as Vivid HDR, uses artificial intelligence to enhance and improve image quality in scenes with strong contrast between light and dark areas.
