Nexperia's AEC-Q101-compliant product portfolio includes six ESD protection devices (PESD2CANFD36XX-Q), Designed to protect buses in in-vehicle networks (IVNs) such as LIN, CAN, CAN-FD, FlexRay and SENT from damage caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD) and other transients. As data transfer rates increase and on-board electronic content increases, the need for ESD protection becomes more and more important, and providing the right type of protection has become a great challenge for design engineers.

     Nexperia's AEC-Q101-compliant product portfolio includes six ESD protection devices (PESD2CANFD36XX-Q), Designed to protect buses in in-vehicle networks (IVNs) such as LIN, CAN, CAN-FD, FlexRay and SENT from damage caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD) and other transients. As data transfer rates increase and on-board electronic content increases, the need for ESD protection becomes more and more important, and providing the right type of protection has become a great challenge for design engineers.

     Compared to battery voltages in cars and small vehicles, 24 V power supplies are commonly used in trucks and commercial vehicles. Sensitive signal lines in 24 V systems usually require ESD protection with an operating voltage higher than 32 V. To meet these requirements, Nexperia has designed the portfolio with a maximum reverse cutoff voltage of 36 V and ESD protection up to 22 kV. This performance, combined with A low clamping voltage of VCL= 48 V (when IPP = 1 A), provides superior system-level shock resistance to IVNs.

     Given the on-board network's specifications and ease of design, Nexperia offers this portfolio in SOT23 and SOT323 packages and offers three different ultra-low capacitance levels of 4.3 pF, 6 pF and 10 pF to help ensure smooth communication between interfaces without compromising signal integrity. Such combinations maximize PCB design flexibility and provide design engineers with a variety of performance options.
