NXP introduces new UHF card reader chips for electronic devices and consumer markets

     NXP Semiconductors announced the launch of its latest RFID product - a low-cost UHF card reader chip designed specifically for the electronic devices and FMCG markets. To enhance the consumer experience and combat counterfeiting, a growing number of manufacturers are integrating RFID solutions into products ranging from printers to beverage vending machines. RFID readers can identify consumables equipped with RFID tags (such as ink cartridges, beverage bottles, etc.), thus ensuring the best quality of prints and beverages, etc. NXP now offers customers proven solutions that integrate a full range of UHF products, from card reader chips to tag chips.

     NXP's new UHF card reader chip is a complete systematic chip solution that includes a UHF RFID transceiver and an integrated microcontroller. The solution also features low power consumption, high integration and small footprint, ensuring that the total cost of the equipment is kept low. This makes it ideal for large volume devices and FMCG markets. The SLRC900 was developed by NXP in partnership with PHYCHIPS.
