Microchip announces a new family of feature-rich, flexible I/O controllers designed for industrial and embedded computing designers
Microchip Technology, a global leader in integrated microcontroller, mixed-signal, emulator and flash memory proprietary solutions, announced the introduction of the SCH322X family of I/O controllers, a rich and flexible product line tailored to the needs of industrial and embedded computing designers. A new family of I/O controllers with smaller package sizes and longer product life cycles enables more cost-effective industrial and embedded applications. The SCH322X series is available in two operating temperature versions, commercial and industrial.
The SCH322X Super I/O family includes a wide range of products to meet the needs of industrial and embedded applications. Each product in the family includes a different feature set that combines serial ports, parallel ports, PS/2, flexible universal input/output (GPIO) functionality, and world-class temperature and voltage monitoring, which allows designers to design more cost-effective industrial applications. The SCH322X series features an area-optimized BGA package that supports the most compact board designs.
The SCH322X family runs on the x86 architecture and consists of six devices tailored for different applications. These devices have a different number of serial ports and hardware monitoring functions, and some devices also have keyboard controller functions, providing customers with a rich choice.
