Littelfuse extends the ITV9550 battery protector family

Littelfuse has announced an extension to its ITV9550 line of surface-mounted lithium battery protectors. These fuses protect the battery pack from overcurrent and overcharge (overvoltage) conditions.

The new ITV9550 is a 60 amp, three terminal fuse with a size of 9.5 x 5.0 mm. The innovative design incorporates a built-in fuse and heater element for fast response and reliability to disconnect the battery pack's charging or discharging circuits before overcharging or overheating conditions occur.

The ITV9550 Battery Protector is ideal for use in a wide range of consumer electronics including:

● Power tools,

● Robot equipment,

● Electric bicycles and scooters,

● Emergency radio and

● Uninterruptible power supply (UPS)

Working principle: In case of overcharge, the built-in fuse with three terminals can cut off the circuit. The heater element is embedded directly under the fuse element to generate enough heat to blow the fuse if the IC or FET detects the process condition.
