Lattice introduces GigaRay modules for gigabit wireless infrastructure applications
Lattice Semiconductor announced the industry's first pre-certified, product-ready GigaRayMMOD6541260GHz module, the ideal modular solution for high-speed wireless infrastructure applications. Our SiBEAM phased array antennas and electronic beam control technology minimize installation time and maintenance costs for operators on fixed and mobile broadband networks. The module provides a complete solution that accelerates communication equipment development and reduces design risk and implementation costs.
As data output and consumption continue to grow, particularly in urban environments, this trend is driving operators of commercial and public broadband networks to increase communication capacity at the network edge. The license-free 60GHz band offers operators the advantages of high data capacity, high spectrum reuse, and low management costs, making it an ideal alternative to expensive and time-consuming fiber-optic networks. Traditional 60GHz products are cumbersome and expensive to install and maintain. Lattice's GigaRay module enables operators to take full advantage of the potential of the 60GHz band.

The MOD65412 module supports 1GbpsTCP/IP data bandwidth (up to 200 meters) and 300MbpsTCP/IP data bandwidth (up to 300 meters) with a steering range of 45 degrees. To support engineers in the evaluation of technical and design prototypes, Lattice has introduced the SK65415 evaluation Kit and SK65412 Development Kit based on the Micro PC.
