Lattice Semiconductor has announced the launch of a development platform for the design of low-power consumer wearable devices. The platform is based on iCE40 Ultra™ FPgas and features a wide range of sensors and peripherals, making it ideal for all types of wearable device designs.The iCE40 Ultra FPGA is 60% smaller in package size than other microcontroller options.

     Lattice Semiconductor has announced the launch of a development platform for the design of low-power consumer wearable devices. The platform is based on iCE40 Ultra™ FPgas and features a wide range of sensors and peripherals, making it ideal for all types of wearable device designs.The iCE40 Ultra FPGA is 60% smaller in package size than other microcontroller options. The iCE40 Ultra FPGA also supports low-power standby mode for always-on functionality, making it ideal for wearables that need to work for several days on a single charge.

     The iCE40 Ultra Wearables development platform includes hardware features and sensors including a 1.54-inch display, MEMS microphone, high brightness LED, infrared LED (IR LED), BLE module and 32Mb flash memory. The platform also supports sensors that measure heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), skin temperature and pressure, as well as accelerometers and gyroscopes. The platform looks like a wristwatch (1.5 inches wide x 1.57 inches long x 0.87 inches high) and comes with a wristband and a built-in battery.
