KEMET's C700 safety rated disk capacitors are designed for interference suppression AC line filtering applications. These capacitors have internationally recognized safety certifications and are ideal for applications that need to keep potentially destructive or destructive line transients and EMI away from sensitive equipment.

KEMET's C700 safety rated disk capacitors are designed for interference suppression AC line filtering applications. These capacitors have internationally recognized safety certifications and are ideal for applications that need to keep potentially destructive or destructive line transients and EMI away from sensitive equipment.

 

They are also an ideal solution when line interference needs to be suppressed at source. Capacitors certified for safety are classified as X or Y type capacitors. Class X capacitors are primarily used in wire-to-wire (cross-wire) applications. In this application, there is no shock hazard to humans if the capacitor fails, but there may be a fire hazard. Class Y capacitors are mainly used for line-to-ground (line-by-pass) applications.

 

In this application, the failure of the capacitor may lead to the risk of electric shock. These safety capacitors meet the pulse test standards listed in IEC Standard 60384. These devices meet the requirements for subclasses X1 and Y1/Y2 and the flame testing requirements outlined in UL Standard 94 V-0.
