Cypress's new evaluation kit simplifies the design of a wide range of solar-powered iot devices

     Cypress Semiconductor Corporation announced the launch of a new evaluation kit for the evaluation of Cypress's energy harvesting Power Management IC (PMIC) family of products. The Cypress CYALKIT-E04 evaluation Kit provides developers with an easy-to-use platform to design battery-free devices or extend battery life with solar modules and to evaluate a variety of power management capabilities for wireless sensor nodes. The kit can be used with Cypress's Bluetooth Low Energy wireless connectivity solution in iot applications.

     The evaluation kit contains two separate evaluation boards for evaluating ultra-low-power S6AE102A and S6AE103A PMIC products that charge supercapacitors with solar energy, and a sensor board for analyzing the operation of a door sensor or ambient light sensor. In addition, the kit includes a solar module, a button battery, reference circuit diagrams, bill of materials and board layout to help simplify the design.
