C&K has added a long-travel switch to its line of ultra durable light touch switches

C&K has expanded its line of micro KSC Ultra Durable (TE) touch switches by adding a 5.2mm high switch that provides longer travel to the 3.5mm version. The KSC4 TE switch family has a service life of up to 10 million cycles, simplifying the design cycle and outperforming the competition in terms of size and force.

The KSC4 TE switch is 6mm x 6mm in size and 5.2mm in height and provides three operating forces of 1.6, 2.8 and 4N. Its compact size and design flexibility give designers more room to add additional features to the final product or reduce the size of the printed circuit board (PCB). In addition, the integration of switches is made easier by redefining the electrical switching position from PCB height and adopting stricter tolerances.

Silicone contacts facilitate tolerance management and possible preloading operations, and the IP67 protection rating allows them to provide strong protection against dust and water entry. The ultra-long reliability reduces the need for costly maintenance or replacement work, making the touch switch suitable for a variety of demanding applications, including:
