Bridgetek launches PanL system to explore new opportunities in smart home and beyond

     Bridgetek continues to expand the scope of its pioneering PanL integrated system solutions by adding new hardware to accelerate the realization of "smart environments" in many industry applications. These include households, retail, healthcare companies, and utilities, extending to factory automation, agriculture, and medicine.

     The whole idea of the PanL platform is to eliminate the need for isolated, independent systems and an integrated intelligent environment that controls each component element through a complete human machine interface (HMI). This means a better user experience and avoids the frustration of having to deal with multiple control applications. PanLHub is the core of the entire platform, it is responsible for the network connection aspect, facilitate the bridge between the user and the connected smart device, and support a wide range of different interface options (including RS485 port array) data transmission, Plus Wi-Fi(802.11b/g/n), Bluetooth low power, Z-Wave, Zigbee, PoE Ethernet (100Base-T) and commonly used smart light control standards (DALI and PhilipsHue). Up to 100 different devices can be connected through a combination of wired and wireless methods.

     The new PanL35 unit (launched earlier this year) features a 3.5-inch wall-mounted display, a sedate housing for industrial Settings, and a sleek, aesthetically pleasing design that is more suitable for home/office use. This makes it possible to apply to a wider range of environmental applications, where visual effects can be considered an important factor. Next is the large PanL70. This product features a large (7" format) full-color TFT display with 800x480 image cable resolution, 450cd/m2 output and capacitive touch screen. A version of the PanL70 PLUS with built-in RFID capability is also released, which can be customized for applications such as time and attendance, access control or logistics.

     In addition to the above projects, there is a new product PanLRelay. It is a switch that can be used for serial interface control over RS485 to provide power switching functions for all household appliances and other forms of equipment. With PanL, users have access to a single, intuitive, touch-based human-machine interface that covers all aspects of intelligent automation and the ability to present compelling graphic content, including animation and video playback. A simple and intuitive operation mode is provided to the user through a common control interface. A purpose-built API that supports interface connectivity implementations via tablet/smartphone.

     For Bridgetek's underlying PanL technology, it is the combination of its own FT900 series 32-bit performance-optimized microcontroller unit (MCU) and its award-winning Embedded Video Engine (EVE) graphics controller chip.
