Bourns TVS bidirectional diodes meet several key safety standards
Bourns Power TVS diodes provide effective electrostatic discharge (ESD) and lightning protection in applications requiring high-power DC bus protection. PTVS diodes are capable of withstand surges of 1 kA to 20 kA at low voltages and meet some of the industry's key safety standards, such as the IEC610000-4-2 Level 4 and IEC61000-4-5 lightning protection standards for ESD protection.
Ac and DC power supplies used in telecommunications and other exposed environmental applications typically require protection from adverse events such as power line surges and indirect lightning strikes. It is essential that by limiting peak surge voltages to acceptable levels, lines do not short-circuit and damage the power supply for extended periods of time in order to minimize downtime for critical systems and avoid costly maintenance work. Power TVS diodes can meet the requirements of these applications.
