Artesyn EmbeddedTechnologies introduces new 1 5W and 20W DC/DC power converters

     Artesyn EmbeddedTechnologies announced the introduction of the AEE15W-M and AEE20W-M series of new 15W and 20W DC/DC power converters to provide Oems developing industrial products and medical devices with a low cost and highly demanding power system solution. Ensure that these products, which must use auxiliary or reinforced insulation systems, have the relevant certification and meet the safety standards of industrial products and medical devices.

     The reinforced insulation system is a necessary and critical component of medical equipment with a rated operating voltage of 300V(AC) and an input and output isolation voltage of 4200Vrms(AC). These new DC/DC power modules are compliant with UL/CSAEN/IEC60601-1 Medical Device Safety Standard (3rd Edition) and provide double insulation protection (2XMOPP) for patients. This series of DC/DC power modules is highly stable and reliable, with an estimated mean time to failure (MTBF) of more than 1,000,000 hours.

     Each of the AEE15W-M and AEE20W-M series is packaged in a small, 2x1 inch plastic box with an efficiency of up to 89% and an extremely wide input voltage range for 9V to 75V(DC) input voltages. These include three different 2:1 rated input voltage ranges of 9V to 18V, 18V to 36V and 36V to 75V.

     The two series of power modules have full-regulated single output and dual output models, the single output model has 5V, 12V and 15V outputs to choose from, and the dual output model has +12V/-12V output and +15V/-15V output two options to choose from. These DC/DC power modules can operate in the temperature range of -40 to 80 degrees Celsius, provide full power output at operating temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius, and can derate output even when operating in high temperature zones above 60 degrees Celsius.

     In addition, these two series of power modules have other features, such as low leakage characteristics and overvoltage protection, which are indispensable for medical devices, and electromagnetic interference resistance comply with EN55022A Class (ClassA) and FCC LevelA (FCC) safety standards.
