Artesyn Embedded Technologies introduces a new family of 6W DC/DC power converters compliant with medical device safety regulations

     Artesyn Embedded Technologies announced the launch of the new ASA 6W-M series 6W DC/DC power converters. It is a cost-effective power system solution that enables Oems developing general industrial products or medical devices to develop industrial products or medical devices that meet stringent safety standards.

     The ASA6W-M series is equipped with a 4000V(AC) reinforced insulation resistance with an insulation impedance of 10Gohm, complying with Double Insulation Protection (2X MOOP) under the Operator Protection Method (MOOP). In addition, the products comply with the UL/cUL/EN/IEC 60601-1 Medical Device Safety Standard (3rd Edition), and the products themselves are highly stable and reliable, with an average time to failure (MTBF) of 1,000,000 hours

     The ASA 6W-M series power converters come in a compact, sealed package with a size of only 31.8 x 20.3 mm (1.25 x 0.8 in), which is the industry's standard package size, with a power efficiency of up to 80% and an extremely wide input voltage range. The rated input voltages are 12V, 24V, or 48V (9-18Vdc, 18-36Vdc, 36-75Vdc), and all are available in single-output and dual-output versions.

     Artesyn Embedded Technologies' ASA 6W-M series products have two different outputs: single channel and dual channel. The single channel output version has 5V output and 12V output. The dual output version is available with +12V/-12V output and +15V/-15V output. These DC/DC power modules can operate in a temperature range of -40 to 75 degrees Celsius, provide full power output even when operating at temperatures up to 55 degrees Celsius, and can derate output when operating in high temperature zones. In addition, this series of power supply products have other features, such as low leakage characteristics and overvoltage protection, which are indispensable for medical devices, and electromagnetic interference resistance comply with EN55022 Class A and FCC Level A safety standards.
