Artesyn Embedded Technologies introduces a new COM Express module with NXP QorlQ T-series processors

     Artesyn Embedded Technologies announced the introduction of a new line of COM ExpressO embedded computing modules with NXP's QorIQO T-series processors. Artesyn Embedded Technologies' new COMX-T modules, called the COMX-T family, contain four NXP T1042 models based on the NXPPowerPC architecture (Power ArchitectureO) The processor or eight NXP T2081 virtual core processors also use the PowerPC architecture (Power ArchitectureO), and are equipped with a variety of high-speed interfaces, and the size of the standard module is the same as the production version. This is a very cost-effective processor solution with the advantages of high processing density, easy replacement, and a long life cycle. This series of COMX-T modules is suitable for telecommunications equipment, networking systems, aerospace instruments, military/defense equipment, and industrial products, including low-power, compact iot devices.

     Artesyn Embedded Technologies' COMX-T2081 and COMX-T1042 modules are designed to be hardened to operate in harsh environments, such as extreme temperatures and high crash-shock resistance. NXP's T2081 processor is powered by an AltiVec engine and includes an innovative dual-threaded e6500 core with extremely high performance ratings per watt. NXP's primary goal with the T2081 processor is to provide an upgraded alternative to the highly popular QorIQ P Series 4-core mid-range processor line. If the performance of the two is compared with the same power consumption, the T2081 processor is superior to its predecessor in terms of core power, cache size, and serial/deserializer bandwidth. Some of today's electronic devices require high-performance processor cores, must also be able to support serial Advanced technology attachment (SATA) hard drives and graphics capabilities, and must also consume extremely low power. The 4-core T1042 processor, which is pin-compatible with the T2081, is another cost-effective option for such applications.

     The new COMX-T2081 and COMX-T1042 modules with QorIQ T-series processors are only 95mm x 125mm in size, which is fully compatible with the basic COM Express model and is equipped with a Category 5/6 pin output. An extended/revised edition from NXP is also available. The introduction of these two new modules will further expand ATsen's COM Express family of power management architecture products, allowing customers to take full advantage of these technologies to upgrade their existing systems or introduce a whole new set of software.
