Artesyn Embedded Technologies introduces a new 800W CRPS server power supply

     Artesyn Embedded Technologies announced the availability of a new 800W server power supply compliant with Intel's Universal Redundant Power Supply (CRPS) technical specification. It is characterized by an infrastructure that can support devices such as computing systems, networks and storage systems, and is most suitable for devices such as enterprise-class information systems, cloud and hyperscale computing.

     The power supply for this model, the CSU800AP, is housed in a small, sealed 1U high housing. Thanks to the latest switched power conversion technology and a high-density component package, the power supply measures just 2.89x7.28 inches (73.5x185.0mm), much smaller than older models with roughly the same power.

     Suitable for input voltages ranging from 90V to 264V(AC), this power supply is equipped with active power factor correction and rated conversion efficiency of up to 94%, which meets the efficiency requirements of 80 PlusPlatinum Platinum certification, and has less current harmonic (iTHD) distortion for low loads. The CSU800AP power supply has a 12V(DC) main output, which is best suited for distributed power architecture systems, to feed the DC/DC power converter located downstream of such systems, while a secondary 12V(DC) output provides rated 3A current to the power management or monitoring circuit.

     The main output (DC) of the CSU800AP power supply can continuously output up to 66.7A, while the peak pulse current can be up to 93.3A. In addition, the power supply is equipped with an active current sharing function that allows multiple power supplies to be connected in parallel, thus providing greater current output for high current applications without the need for additional components, ensuring that the product can be fully cost effective. The power supply is hot-swapable and compatible with Atsen's universal PMBusTm graphical user interface, ensuring that monitoring functions can be performed via a built-in I2C interface that complies with the industry-standard PMBus communication protocol.
