Advanced audio processing SOCs provide a superior mobile device experience

     ON Semiconductor, driving energy efficient innovation, has introduced its latest high-resolution audio processing system-on-chip (SoC) with 1,656 KB of static random access memory (SRAM) and power-efficient hardware acceleration to save more space and extend battery life for devices such as smartphones, wearable accessories and recorders.

     The LC823450 is powered by an energy-efficient ARM® Cortex-M3 core and ON Semiconductor's 32-bit /192 kHz audio processing engine that supports hardware-based MP3 encoding/decoding and wireless audio for improved performance and power efficiency. In addition, the company offers a large selection of royalty-free and license-free digital signal processing (DSP) code samples to help accelerate software design and minimize development costs, including advanced features such as noise canceller and S-Live(Low Frequency Intelligent Virtual Excitation) for enhanced low frequency playback.

     The new LC823450, with its ample on-chip SRAM, provides plenty of memory for audio processing and application tasks without the need for a secondary memory chip. Designers can also take advantage of a wealth of integrated audio peripherals such as analog/digital converters, phase-locked loops, and Class D amplifiers. In addition, industry standard interfaces such as SPI, I2C, SDCard, and UART enable product designers to build in universal connectivity.
