A handheld test instrument for checking the cleanliness of metals
Dyne Testing, a brand of Intertronics, offers CleanoSpector, which provides contactless cleanliness checks and contributes to quality assurance in industrial cleaning processes. The device is an easy-to-use, hand-held nondestructive testing instrument specifically designed to measure the cleanliness of manufactured metal parts to ensure that there are no contaminants on the surface before the next manufacturing stage.
The device measures organic contamination of metal surfaces, such as oils, greases, coolants, release agents and cleaning fluids. It is widely used in production lines, field work, and laboratories in various industries, including automotive, medical device manufacturing, and aerospace.
The instrument provides non-contact and non-destructive inspection of metal surfaces at the push of a button. It detects contamination on metal surfaces by firing focused ultraviolet light at them and measuring the fluorescence of any organic compounds. The results show the degree of cleanliness in the part, in percent. The higher the measured fluorescence intensity, the stronger the pollution, and the lower the cleanliness.

Fluorescence measurement technology using this device can reliably monitor and record the cleanliness of cleaned parts. In addition, as a preliminary check before cleaning, it can ensure that the degree of contamination of the parts is kept within the allowable range of the cleaning process regulations and design. It can quickly identify parameter deviations and cleaning system faults, greatly improving process reliability. Software options provide computer control of equipment and record and manage cleanliness measurement data.
