Vishay's new platinum SMD flat chip temperature sensor

     Vishay Intertechnology has announced the release of the new AEC-Q200 certified PTS Series Platinum SMD flat sheet temperature sensor, the PTS AT. The Vishay Beyschlag PTS AT series devices improve thermal cycling performance at higher temperatures of +175 ° C, providing accurate and stable temperature detection capabilities for automotive, industrial and aerospace electronics.

     Using a tightly controlled platinum film production process, the sensor has excellent temperature characteristic stability, with a temperature characteristic of less than 0.1% after 1000 hours, ensuring accurate and stable operation under harsh environmental conditions. Typical applications of the device include A/T controllers, oil quality/level sensor modules, and ARS controllers.

     The 0805-size PTS AT series sensors have resistance values of 100Ω and 500Ω, and the 1206 size sensors have resistance values of 100Ω, 500Ω and 1kΩ, tolerance classes of F0.3 and F0.6, and short-range linear temperature characteristics of +3850ppm/K. The reaction time of the device is less than 3 seconds (in air) and the operating temperature range is from -55 ° C to +175 ° C.

     The sensor can be reflow lead-free and is suitable for processing on automatic SMD mounters using IEC61760-1 compliant wave soldering, reflow soldering or gas welding processes. Special enclosures provide electrical, mechanical and climate protection for the devices.

     The ends of these lead-free devices are coated with pure tin on the nickel coating, which prevents the coating from growing tin. This method has been extensively tested and proved to be effective. The sensors comply with RoHS and CEFIC-EECA-EICTA legislation on hazardous substances and are tested in accordance with IEC 60751, IEC 60068 and AEC-Q200 standards.
