Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH has released two new switches

     Toshiba Electronics Europe Ltd. has released two new switches, the TDS4A212MX 2:1 multiplexer (Mux) and the TDS4B212MX 1:2 Demultiplexer (De-Mux), for high-speed differential signals up to 32Gbps. These devices are compact and support PCIe 5.0, USB4 Ver.2, Thunderbolt 4, and DisplayPort 2.0 to connect and extend peripherals in applications such as PCS, server devices, mobile devices, and more.

     The two new products offer a -3dB bandwidth (differential) of 26.2GHz or 27.5GHz (type) at maximum direct current in 150 μa active mode, providing high signal integrity levels. The company achieves these high performance features by adopting its original SOI-CMOS front-end process technology, TaRFSOI.

     Differential signal operating range common mode voltage is 0V ~ 2.0V, differential voltage swing is 0V ~ 1.8Vpp, support a variety of differential interface standards. In standby mode, current consumption can be reduced to less than 10µA to save power. The new device can operate at ambient temperatures from -40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius.

     The two devices are housed in a tiny XQFN16 2.4mm x 1.6mm package with a 0.4mm form factor, meeting the needs of engineers looking for PCB real estate miniaturization. The TDS4B212MX has optimized pins for high frequency performance, while the TDS4A212MX's pins simplify board layout.

     In addition to these two new USB4 high-performance devices, PCIe Gen 4 and Thunderbolt 4, the company has also increased the range available for Farnell's other high-speed bus switches. These will work with USB 2.0, PCIe Gen1, 5V and low voltage GPIOs, as well as level shifting devices for I²C type interfaces. This provides design engineers with a wide range of bus switching and level switching options.
