The redesigned IGBT power module reduces conduction and switching losses

     New Yorker Electronics has introduced five new Vishay half-bridge IGBT power modules in the newly designed INT-A-PAK package. Based on Vishay's Trench IGBT technology, VS-GT100TS065S, VS-GT150TS065S, VS-GT200TS065S, VS-GT100TS065N and VS-GT200TS065N offer designers a choice of two best-in-class technologies - low VCE (on) or low Eoff - to reduce traffic, High current inverter level conduction or switching losses for energy and industrial applications.

     The half-bridge device combines the Trench igbt, which is more energy efficient than other devices on the market, with a fourth-generation FRED Pt® antiparallel diode with ultra-soft reverse recovery characteristics. The module's compact INT-A-PAK package offers a new gate pin orientation and is now 100% compatible with the 34mm industry standard package, thus providing a mechanical plug-in alternative.

     Industrial grade devices will be used in railway equipment power inverter; Energy production, distribution and storage systems; Welding equipment; Motor drive; And robots. To reduce conduction losses in the output stage of TIG welders, VS-GT100TS065S, VS-GT150TS065S and VS-GT200TS065S offer industry low collector-emitter voltages of ≤1.07V at +125C and rated current. For high frequency power supply applications, the VS-GT100TS065N and VS-GT200TS065N offer extremely low switching losses, with Eoff as low as 1mJ at +125C and rated current.

     The rohs compliant modules feature a 650V collector-emitter voltage, a continuous collector current of 100A to 200A, and very low crust thermal resistance. ul Certified E78996, the device can be mounted directly to the radiator and offers low EMI to reduce snub requirements.
