The new generation of thermoelectric cooling technology improves the cooling performance of chassis and cabinets

Laird Thermal Systems has released a new high-performance thermoelectric cooler assembly series that uses next-generation thermoelectric coolers with advanced semiconductor materials. This enhancement boosts cooling performance by up to 10% over previous models. Combined with a high-performance heat sink and fan shroud assembly, the ultra-compact SuperCool X Series can transfer heat to ambient environments more rapidly than legacy systems.

     Laird Thermal Systems has announced a new family of high-performance thermoelectric cooler components using next-generation thermoelectric coolers and advanced semiconductor materials. This enhancement improves cooling performance by up to 10% over previous models. Combined with a high-performance radiator and fan cover assembly, the ultra-compact SuperCool X series can transfer heat into the environment faster than traditional systems. The series is designed for sample storage rooms often found in analytical instruments or medical diagnostic rooms with tight geometric space constraints. These thermoelectric components can be used for heating or cooling, depending on the application. Customized configuration is available on request.

     A set of high-performance thermoelectric coolers is located in the center of each cooler assembly. This high performance thermoelectric coolers are manufactured with advanced thermoelectric materials to provide increased cooling capacity for this family of components. The next generation thermoelectric cooler maintains a high performance factor to minimize the input power required for operation and reduce heat dissipation requirements on the hot side.

     The series consists of three models that provide design engineers with several heat transfer mechanisms on the control side. Heat can be absorbed by convection (air-to-air), conduction (direct to air), or liquid (liquid to air). The liquid-to-air model SLAX has a cooling capacity of up to 400W, while the direct-to-air model SDAX has a cooling capacity of up to 220W and the air-to-air model SAAX has a heat pump capacity of up to 175W. All cooling capacities are measured at ΔT=0 ° C and Tamb = 35 ° C with a nominal operating system voltage of 24VDC. These compact, refrigerantless thermoelectric cooler assemblies provide an environmentally friendly alternative to compressor-based systems for precise temperature control.
