The industry's first fully integrated DDR memory power solution
Texas Instruments announced the industry's first fully integrated power management solution, the first for double data Rate (DDR) 2, DDR3 and DDR3L memory subsystems in automotive and industrial applications. The TPS54116-Q1 DC/DC Buck converter is a 4-A synchronous buck converter with input voltages of 2.95-V to 6-V, with 1-A peak reverse/source current DDR termination regulator and buffer reference, which reduces system size by 50% compared to a discrete implementation.
The TPS54116-Q1 powers not only DDR memory for telecommunications, test and measurement, and factory automation equipment, but also automotive applications such as infotainment systems, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and dashboards. Used in conjunction with the TI WEBENCH® online design tool, the TPS54116-Q1 simplifies power conversion and speeds up the power supply design process. As the latest addition to TI's industry-leading DC/DC converter portfolio, the TPS54116-Q1 step-down converter offers switching frequencies up to 2.5 MHZ and solution size reduction by integrating SOSFET and reducing inductor size. Switching frequencies can also be set in the medium wave radio band for noise sensitive applications and synchronized with external clocks.
