The GNSS correction service extends its scope with the RTCM RTK data format

    U-blox expands the scope of PointPerfect's GNSS calibration service by adding the Maritime Services Radio Technical Council (RTCM) data format standard, making the service usable with all GNSS and RTK receiver hardware.

     To date, PointPerfect has exclusively produced calibration data in the SPARTN data format. Designed to increase flexibility, RTCM now lowers the barriers to adoption and expands the addressable market for high-precision positioning solutions at scale. The high-precision service works seamlessly with any GNSS RTK receiver module, u-blox or non-U-BLOx, or even a fleet of hybrid devices without the need for integration expertise.

     This extension introduces RTCM users to the solution's unique flexible usage-based pricing plan, which is an affordable alternative to the rigid, high annual service fees of traditional RTK vendors. Pay-as-you-go plans allow users to pay only by the hour. By sharing service hours across the entire fleet, sharing plans can simplify cost optimization.

     The expansion of GNSS calibration services will address a broader range of devices using the RTCM data standard, such as robotic lawnmowers, service delivery robots, drones, and precision agriculture.
