The 60V rated synchronous step-down converter improves the efficiency of automotive load point (PoL) product applications

     Diodes introduce two new synchronous step-down converters. DIODES AP66200Q and DIODES AP66300Q for automotive point-to-load (PoL) products cover a wide input voltage range from 3.8V to 60V. This enables the application of 12V, 24V and 48V automotive systems. These devices provide efficient step-down conversions in vehicle powertrain, telematics, infotainment and lighting systems through their integrated power MosFeTs.

     The low static current (IQ) of AP66200Q and AP66300Q is 40μA, which is suitable for many automotive applications. 100µA standby requirement. They can be easily configured to operate in pulse frequency modulation (PFM) or pulse width modulation (PWM) mode. In PFM mode, higher efficiency can be achieved under light load. Operating in PWM mode, low ripple is generated on all loads.

     Both devices have adjustable frequency switching capabilities (up to 2.5MHz) and sync to avoid beat frequency problems. Engineers have the flexibility to choose between efficient operation or smaller system designs. Its low on-resistance (RDS(ON)) value and enhanced efficiency mode significantly reduces internal power consumption. Soft start pins can be programmed to reduce inrush current and can be used to track multiple output voltages.

     Both AP66200Q and AP66300Q comply with AEC-Q100 Grade 1 specification, are manufactured in an IATF 16949 certified facility and support PPAP documentation. AP66200Q and AP66300Q are packaged in a compact 16-pin U-QFN4040-16/SWP (UXB type) package.
