Synopsys new DesignWare medium capacity non-volatile memory

     Synopsys announced the availability of its new DesignWare Medium Capacity non-Volatile Memory (NVM) IP products. Medium Density NVM IP fills the gap between low-capacity NVM and high-capacity flash memory without additional masks or process steps, reducing chip costs by up to 25%. When integrating microcontrollers into analog IC designs for smart sensor, power management, and touch screen controller applications, the medium capacity NVM IP provides up to 64 Kbyte embedded storage, eliminating the need for external EEPROM or flash memory.

     DesignWare Medium capacity NVM IP products bring flash memory capabilities to 5V CMOS and BCD process technologies. Error correction (ECC) capabilities provide additional system reliability while reducing integration effort. Compared with the small-capacity NVM solution, this NVM IP density increases by 5 times; A read time of 40 nanoseconds is also provided, providing fast read times and real-time calculations. Through validation done in Synopsys LABS, including rigorous performance testing, certification and reliability testing, the NVM IP supports temperatures ranging from -40 ° C to 125 ° C, and data can be stored for 10 years.
