Renesas Electronics launches entry-level development kit for ADAS applications

     Renesas Electronics,a leading global supplier of semiconductors and solutions, has introduced the industry's smallest R-Car development kit, the ADAS Entry-level Kit. The package features Renesas' high-end R-Car H2 System-on-chip (SoC) to help simplify and accelerate the development of ADAS(Advanced Driver Assistance System) applications.

     The new ADAS entry-level suite extends Renesas' existing R-Car V2H based ADAS development board, allowing users and partners to experience the high-performance real-time image recognition performance of Renesas SOCs, while also helping to accelerate the development process of dedicated hardware and software solutions for future ADAS applications.

     The ADAS entry-level suite features a high-performance real-time image recognition processor that supports the OpenCV interface and powerful graphics processing capabilities based on OpenGLES, enabling users and partners to develop ADAS applications on a stable, high-performance platform. The new suite is powered by Linux based on the Yocto distribution, which is also available for other R-Car evaluation boards.

     The new entry-level kit is the smallest Renesas R-Car development kit in the industry, measuring only 10cm x10cm and equipped with pre-built interfaces and peripherals without the need for any additional hardware. The main development board comes with 2 GB of DDR3 RAM memory, 64 MB of QSPI flash memory, and a Micro SD card slot. The compact development board also includes Ethernet modules, an HDMI output interface, and a camera module connector. It comes with an integrated expansion connector that makes it easy to customize designs. Users can easily design the expansion board and develop new solutions easily. The expansion connector supports interfaces such as PCI Express(PCIe), multiple display outputs, and four camera input channels to meet the requirements of panoramic viewing applications
