Melexis introduces high-performance magnetic position sensor chips

Melexis, a global microelectronics engineering company, has announced the launch of a dual-mode package (DMP) version of the MLX90425 magnetic position sensor chip, further expanding its family of magnetic position sensors. The new device follows the same package design as the existing MLX90364 and MLX90421, providing an easy upgrade path for automotive Tier 1 suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (Oems). The chip is capable of 360° magnetic induction rotation detection and has excellent anti-stray magnetic field interference (SFI) performance, responding precisely to the automotive industry's need for high-precision position detection and anti-interference capabilities.
The MLX90364 and MLX90421 DMP packages have achieved great success in the internal combustion engine (ICE) automotive industry, providing precise position feedback for vehicles in throttle position, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems, transmission position and other actuator or motion feedback systems. As automakers transition from traditional ICE driven vehicles to more sustainable high-voltage hybrid systems, higher requirements are placed on the anti-stray magnetic field interference (SFI) performance of electronic components to ensure that magnetic induction chips provide accurate inductive feedback.
The MLX90425 builds on the proven DMP package design and PIN layout of the MLX90364 and MLX90421, and introduces Melaxin's latest magnetic position sensing technology in a traditional package that engineers are familiar with, providing a seamless and cost-effective upgrade solution to the automotive market, effectively eliminating the need for many component or tool redesigns.
