Low-spec AC/DC power supplies provide convection for medical and industrial applications

     XP Power has announced a new line of low-spec 550W AC-DC power supplies, rated for convection, conduction and forced air cooling. The new psu has been approved for medical and industrial applications and is ideal for a variety of applications, including sealed enclosure environments.

     In the medical field, the ccp550 unit will appear in a variety of medical devices, including ventilators, patient monitors, imaging systems, and laboratory equipment. Industrial applications include test equipment, instrumentation, process control, industrial printing and uv curing. They are also suitable for factory automation, audio/video and iot devices.

     The series includes six different monorail outputs covering 12v, 15v, 18v, 24v, 36v and 48vdc. Except the 15 v model, all units include 12 v, 0.5 fan output,5 v / 2 backup output and remote on/off function as options.

     The combination of the double-layer aluminum substrate construction, the power magnetism of conduction cooling and the efficient zvs topology ensures high efficiency and excellent thermal performance. As a result, operations of up to 300 w can be achieved through convection cooling and 400 w through conduction cooling, allowing for operation in a sealed environment, quiet operation and high reliability.

     When used with 20 cfm of forced air, the CCP550 unit delivers a full 550 w output, providing excellent power density levels in its low profile (37.5 mm (1.48 "),127.0 mm x 76.2 mm (5 "x 3 ") footprint.

     These devices are approved by IEC60601-1 Ed.3 for medical applications and have 2x MOPP from primary to secondary, 1x MOPP from primary to ground and 1x MOPP from secondary to ground. With low ground current and patient leakage current, they are ideal for bf patients accessing medical equipment.

     A wide input voltage range (80-264vac) ensures global suitability, including home healthcare applications. In addition, the ccp550 device can operate at ambient temperatures as high as +70 ° C and as low as -30 ° C. When the main output is suppressed, the units consume less than 0.5w, ensuring that they meet challenging energy efficiency requirements.
