     The rollout of the fiber-optic network is in full swing. However, copper wire is still commonly used for Internet and telecommunications connections in residential buildings and commercial premises. This means that connected routers are constantly exposed to overvoltage surges caused by lightning and power lines. The DT-TELe-WM-RJ-PT-I, manufactured by Phoenix Contact, is now available on the Conrad sourcing platform. It reliably protects these devices, which is essential for an uninterrupted and fast Internet connection.

     The device protects connected routers 24/7, eliminating the need to worry about sensitive technology and overly complicated installations during thunderstorms. The surge protector can be mounted on the DIN rail or installed into the meter box with a flick of the wrist. In addition, it can also be screwed to the wall. What's also smart: The combination of push-in terminals and RJ45 sockets allows for a versatile and user-friendly installation.

     Unlike current surge protectors, whose use is limited at high transmission rates, this device does not interfere with the signal passing through it. This is confirmed by Deutsche Telekom's VDSL, Vector VDSL, Super Vector VDSL (SVVDSL) and G.fast tests. In addition, the built-in status indicator can also show whether the device is working properly.

     The device has an integrated isolator and current limiter to reduce excess or unwanted voltage surges to harmless levels.
