Diodes Ultra-high speed rectifiers provide 600V 8A performance for power factor correction applications

     Diodes Incorporated's new 600V 8A ultra-high speed rectifier, the DSR8F600, is specially designed for use in boost diodes with power factor correction and continuous on-mode. The target market is to provide switching power supplies with high output of over 75W in end devices such as flat panel TVS, servers and telecommunications systems to meet new and higher energy efficiency standards in Europe, the United States, Japan and China.

     The new product's 20ns ultra-high-speed reverse recovery time can reduce the switching loss of power factor correction MOSFET; Speed up switching and improve energy efficiency. Fast soft recovery helps reduce ringing and electromagnetic interference. The device uses A low reverse recovery current of 3.9A to minimize the recovery loss of the booster diode, while reducing MOSFET power consumption and reducing the risk of system failure. The low forward voltage drop of 1.95V also minimizes the on-off loss of the boost diode.

     The high-performance DSR8F600 is designed for power factor correction circuit designers who require minimal energy consumption to achieve maximum power efficiency while minimizing noise. The device is the first in Diodes' line of ultra-fast rectifiers that will have higher voltages and currents.
