C&K Components has developed two families of compact medium power switches for automotive and industrial applications

     C&K Components, the world's leading manufacturer of touch switches, rocker switches, swing switches and high-reliability connectors, has expanded its lineup of compact PCB-mounted switches with the introduction of two new families of medium power switches in instantaneous or self-locking drive configurations.

     The PVA series of short stroke key switches are designed for through-hole PCB welding and are available in DPST (double pole single throw) or DPDT (double pole double throw) configurations. Available in 5 different handle height options (13mm to 23mm) and operating forces of 1.2N, 1.7N or 3.5N, the PVA series switches are suitable for a variety of control panels with limited PC board space and pitch, industrial and automotive applications.

     The PVB series of low profile push-button switches are designed for surface mount or through-hole welding in SPDT (single pole double throw) or DPDT (double pole double throw) configurations. The PVB series switch has a fixed handle height, a 3N operating force, and a positioning pin, so that it can be correctly inserted into the PC board.

     The PVA and PVB series switches are characterized by quiet and smooth drive, and provide instantaneous or self-locking (locking card) functions. The PVA series switches are rated 32VDC/3W and have a service life of more than 100,000 cycles. The PVB series switches are rated at 14VDC/1.4W and 2.8W and have a service life of 100,000 cycles.

     The PVA series switches are packaged in bulk and available in several colors and keystrokes (ordered separately). The surface-mount PVB series switches are packaged with coil tape and are compatible with automatic take-and-place devices.
