     Toshiba Electronics Europe Ltd. has partnered with MIKROE to integrate its powerful TB9083FTG gate driver into the Brushless 30 Click, a compact add-on board for precise and reliable control of BLDC motors in automotive applications.

     Designed according to ISO 26262 (2nd Edition), Toshiba's TB9083FTG integrates nine gate drivers, six of which are used to drive MOSFETs to control brushless DC motors in the 1000W or below range. In addition, it includes three drivers for driving the external MOSFETs, which can be used for system control or safety relays, enabling the device to support ASIL-D, the highest level of functional safety for automotive applications. The device also includes a built-in charge pump, tunable current detection amplifier for each motor phase oscillator circuit, and an SPI communication interface for configuration via the main MCU.

     The brushless 30-point board is designed for a range of external power supplies from 4.5V to 28V and can produce peak output currents of up to 10A. It also offers a comprehensive set of error detection features, including undervoltage, overvoltage, and overtemperature external MOSFET VDS detectors, making it ideal for demanding automotive applications such as EPS, power brakes, and automotive pumps that require precise motor control.

     The Click board measures only 57.15mm x 25.4mm and is fully compatible with microbus sockets. It can be used on any host system that supports the microbus standard and comes with the microsdk open source library to provide ultimate flexibility for system evaluation and customization. An innovative ClickID feature allows the host system to automatically detect and identify the Click board once connected.
