Ams OSRAM's new OSTAR LED comes in sharper colors

     Ams OSram has announced the launch of four new leds in its OSTAR Projection Power product family - LE xx P1MS/AS. The new LED features a projection device with a 0.33-inch digital Light processing (DLP) imager for superior optical performance. The optical expansion of the new OSTAR Projection Power LE xx P1MS/AS LED is compatible with 0.33-inch DLP imaging devices and is available in blue, amber, dark blue and fluorescent conversion green. In a typical four-channel configuration, these OSTAR Projection Power LED products can produce 880Im output brightness at the projector level. According to AMS OSram's internal tests, the brightness of the LED increased by 5% compared to similar products from competing LED suppliers.

     The OSTAR Projection Power LE xx P1MS/AS LED is available in a compact package, measuring only 6.8mm x 7.6mm. The package uses a printed circuit board with a copper core with an isolated pad, which provides better cooling effect and reduces the cost of cooling components.

     The OSTAR Projection Power LE xx P1MS/AS offers excellent thermal performance, combined with high current density and brightness - 6.6A/mm2 for blue, dark blue and fluorescent conversion green leds and 4.5A/mm2 for amber leds.In multi-channel configurations, these LED products support serial connectivity and have low forward current, making it possible to use simpler and less costly LED drivers.

     The new OSTAR Projection Power LE xx P1MS/AS LED is not only suitable for projectors, but also for other applications including endoscopes, 3D scanners and machine vision devices.
