Allows the clickboard to be added to the "Swiss Army Knife" engineering platform

     MikroElektronika has announced a click shield for the Red Dragon Fruit engineering platform, often referred to as the "Swiss Army penknife" of engineering. The size of a credit card, Red Pitaya combines the capabilities of multiple lab instruments - oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers - with plenty of programming power and open source software to jump-start any project. Click shield is an adapter that connects the Click board to popular development platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32 Nucleo, and now Red Pitaya.

     Nebojsa Matic, CEO of MIKROE, commented: "This click-block is an ideal companion to Red Fruit, designed to unlock more possibilities for engineering and programming projects. It facilitates the seamless integration of the click board with your Red Dragon Fruit host board, expanding its functionality and versatility. Once the Red Dragon Fruit host board is connected to our Red Dragon Fruit click Mask, designers have access to more than 1550 click boards and a library containing MIKROE compiler functions and sample code."

     Two microbus sockets are available, which can be powered from an external power supply, supporting a wide voltage range of 12V to 24V, or can be powered from a USB Type C connector, ensuring setup flexibility. In addition, users can use any Click board with the help of an existing bidirectional level conversion voltage converter, regardless of whether the Click board operates at the selected 3.3V or 5V logic voltage level.

     A notable feature of the Click Shield is its spindle connector, which was built specifically for logic analyzer connections. The connector is a gateway that makes it easy to monitor and analyze SPI, UART, or I2C signals, providing valuable insights for your project. Another feature is the integration of ZL40213, an LVDS clock fan-out buffer, and two identical output clock drivers. This component is created to distribute a low-jitter reference clock from an external or internal source, as needed. Whether wired or optical communication applications, click mask ensures minimal jitter and maintains signal integrity. In addition, it extends its utility beyond the dedicated part of clock signal allocation and synchronization with trigger signals.
